WHY bother attending the premiere of Hollywood action flick Iron Man when you can snuggle up with your very own small screen hero instead?

Such may have been Tasma Walton's thinking on Sunday night when the girlfriend of Rove McManus opted to ditch the glitzy premiere and the film's star Robert Downey Jr for a comfy night in a Sydney hotel with her man later on.

While Rove paid his red carpet dues solo, the couple enjoyed the day out and about in Sydney yesterday, fitting in a walk and a quick cuppa in a Bronte cafe.

Sydney seems to be Rove's cup of tea at the moment - the Channel 10 comedian will make his way back to the Harbour City for a live recording of his variety show which will follow the So You Think You Can Dance finale on Sunday, April 27.

Hugh Jackman, the very man McManus once quipped he would "turn for", will be a guest star.
